Ah, a long weekend ahead! In England we love celebrating a long weekend! Everyone starts planning months in advance, specially for those long weekends closer to the so-called “summer”. The Spring bank holiday is a favourite!

Since the previous long weekend was spent in the house move, we’ve decided that we wanted to stay away this one and enjoy the gorgeous english countryside. The choice: Cornwall and the Jurassic Coast! We had stayed in the English Riviera (Torquay – pronounced Torkey) before, but we didn’t had enough time to go a bit further down and reach Cornwall. It’s not that far from London, around 3h50… except on a long weekend where there is loads of traffic!

Anyway, although we normally end up staying in big chain hotels (I try to make the most use of my Marriott status as I can!), I also love exploring the little boutique hotels, like the one we’ve stayed in Torquay itself.

The choice this time was a gorgeous hotel east of Plymouth, right in the country side: Langdon Court Hotel

Gorgeous isn’t it?

Could get used to this view! It’s indeed the perfect place for relax!

After more than 5h driving (because of the traffic), we were more than ready to have some lunch. Langdon Court Hotel also happens to be a well known restaurant in the area, so I was more than curious to try it out:

I had the shrimp and chorizo linguine, and I have to say it was really tasty!

Also thumbs up for the professional and friendly service!

Couldn’t resist a cheesecake for pudding!

After lunch we were more than ready to go out and explore around 🙂

Yap, a lovely hotel, perfect to escape it all and just relax!

I agree! I should do that more often rather than just waiting for long weekends. The countryside in uk is gorgeous!
